Rules and Regulations
The entrant must submit all required materials, including the video file, student verification document and photo release form/s (if needed) on the “Submit Your Entry” page no later than August 15, 2017.
Entrant must comply with all terms, conditions, and registration requirements of the video contest. The Student status of each Entrant must be verified by a faculty member or teacher through a letter of qualification or an official school transcript (see Submit Your Entry for more details).
Winners will be notified and must execute final releases and information requests prior to payment of the prizes. Failure to do so will void the award.
All entries become the property of ARTBA and will not be returned.
Judges: Judges of the competition shall be no fewer than five (5) ARTBA members. The judges will be the sole arbiters deciding which video maker(s) are selected as award winners. No one will be allowed to be a judge if he/she has a conflict of interest with respect to any of the contest entrants, as determined by ARTBA in its sole discretion. A maximum of four (4) videos will be selected and the video makers will be notified of the awards. An announcement of the winners will be made by September 30, 2017.
Criteria: Entries will be judged on creativity, technical merit, adherence to contest requirements, and on how well they manage to convey the themes of the topic. These are clearly subjective categories and will be treated as such. The final awards will be selected based solely on the judges’ consensus.
Online Distribution: No videos may be posted with public access anywhere prior to the contest. If judges find that your video was produced before the contest, you will be ineligible for the competition. After the judging, video makers are free to post their video anywhere they desire.
Disqualification: The judges reserve the right to disqualify any team, contributor, entrant, or entered video that does not comply with the Official Rules and other Contest requirements communicated by the organizer. They also reserve the right to disqualify videos submitted by or promoting for-profit entities at the sole discretion of ARTBA.
Eligibility: All Entrants must be students currently enrolled at a university (graduate and undergraduate), college, high school, middle school or elementary school in any discipline. Teachers/directors of elementary, middle, or high school students are eligible to participate with their class/program; however, the video must primarily be the work of the students.
